Important information about the closure of our affiliate clinic, Morphett Vale Podiatry
With a heavy heart, I announce the permanent closure of Morphett Vale Podiatry.
This has been an extremely difficult decision, and I am so sorry for the inconvenience that it will cause so many of our wonderful patients.
Please find below important information about the closure of the practice and what this means for your ongoing foot care.
WHY IS MORPHETT VALE PODIATRY PERMANENTLY CLOSING?
Due to ongoing staff shortages caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is no longer viable for us to continue operating across two clinic sites.
WHEN IS MORPHETT VALE PODIATRY CLOSING?
Morphett Vale Podiatry will close permanently from Saturday, 30 April 2022.
If you have an appointment before this date, it will go ahead as scheduled unless you inform us that you wish to cancel.
Unfortunately, if you have an appointment scheduled for May, June, or July, this appointment is cancelled, and you will need to organise alternative podiatry care.
WHAT ABOUT BLACKWOOD PODIATRY?
The closure of Morphett Vale Podiatry will not affect the services provided at Blackwood Podiatry. It simply means our personnel and resources will be consolidated into one site.
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS FOR ONGOING PODIATRY CARE?
There are several options available, and you will need to consider the best option for you.
PLEASE NOTE: Blackwood Podiatry does not bulk-bill Medicare referrals. If you attend Blackwood Podiatry you will be charged the full fee at the time of the appointment, and you will receive the Medicare rebate into your bank account.
If Blackwood Podiatry is not an option for you, other podiatrists in the Morphett Vale area include:

You will need to make contact with these practices and enquire about appointment availability and appointment fees.
We recommend that you make contact as soon as possible, in the case that some practices may have waiting times, and some of you will need to organise new GP referrals.
Please feel free to discuss these options with Nicole at your next podiatry appointment.
You may also like to discuss options with your GP.
I HAVE A MEDICARE CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT PLAN OR DVA REFERRAL. WHAT HAPPENS TO THIS REFERRAL?
Unfortunately, your current referral at Morphett Vale Podiatry will not be valid at any other podiatry practice.
You will need to speak to your GP Practice about having any remaining visits reallocated to your new podiatrist. We will provide a summary to you at your final appointment, which will detail how many visits you have remaining on the current referral.
CAN I TRANSFER MY PODIATRY CLINICAL NOTES TO ANOTHER PRACTICE?
At your final Morphett Vale Podiatry appointment, will you be provided with a summary of your podiatry care to hand over to your new podiatrist. This summary will contain all the information your new podiatrist needs to continue your podiatry treatment.
If you do not have a final appointment booked at Morphett Vale Podiatry before 30 April 2022, but would like a podiatry summary, please complete the form below at the bottom of this page and we will arrange for this to be sent to you.
If you would like your full podiatry record forwarded to your new podiatrist, this is part of our Transfer of Information process and will incur a $33 fee. If you would like to go ahead with this option, please complete the form at the bottom of this page to be sent the necessary paperwork.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY CURRENT CLINICAL INFORMATION?
If you do not continue treatment at Blackwood Podiatry, your clinical notes will remain archived on our practice management database.
Your podatry information will be available through Blackwood Podiatry for the next seven years should you wish to access it.
I HAVE A CURRENT REFER-A-FRIEND VOUCHER. WHAT HAPPENS TO THIS?
Any outstanding Refer-a-Friend voucher(s) will be valid for use at Blackwood Podiatry.
Should you not wish to attend Blackwood Podiatry to use the voucher, please advise our reception team (by either telephone or the form at the bottom of this page) and you will receive a Walkers Urea 15 Foot Lotion 500ml Pump Pack valued at $20 (RRP).
