Update to COVID-19 restrictions for podiatry clinics
From Tuesday 1 December 2020, there are a number of new COVID-19 restrictions in place for health care settings in South Australia - including private podiatry clinics.
To comply with these new directives - in addition to the previous initiatives already established at Blackwood Podiatry - we have implemented the following today:
Contact Tracing
Blackwood Podiatry has a registered COVID Safe Plan.
We have implemented the COVID SAfe Check-In contact tracing system for staff, patients and visitors who have a smartphone.
When you arrive at Blackwood Podiatry our administration staff will explain how the SAfe Check-In contact tracing system works.
A manual check-in contact tracing system is available for patient and visitors who do not have a smartphone.
Mandatory use of Masks
All people - including patients, patient’s family members, healthcare staff, administrative staff, contractors and cleaning staff - are required to wear a mask that covers their mouth and nose whilst on healthcare premises.
We kindly ask that if you have a mask at home, could you please wear this to your podiatry appointment. Either re-useable cloth masks OR single use surgical masks are appropriate to use.
For those who do not have a mask at home, you will be provided with one upon arrival to our clinic.
There are exceptions to mask wearing in some situations, such as:
certain medical conditions / breathing difficulties,
mental health conditions,
communication with deaf or hard of hearing community members,
children under 12 years of age.
Density & Social Distancing
Density requirements should be 1 person per 4 square metres.
Density requirements do not include people employed at the practice.
People must use their best endeavours to implement physical distancing and remain 1.5 metres from people they do not know.
Only two patients/visitors will be allowed in the Blackwood Podiatry reception area at one time.
If the reception area is at capacity when you arrive, you will be kindly asked to wait in your car. In this case, the reception staff will ring you when your podiatrist is ready for you.
To assist with capacity restrictions we ask that:
You enter our reception area no earlier than five minutes before your scheduled appointment time; and
You do not bring any extra people along with you to the appointment - except in the case where you require a carer or parent/guardian to accompany you into the consultation.
If you should have any questions about the new directive, please do not hesitate to contact our office on 08 8278 4100 and our administration staff will be more than happy to help you.
