Foot Health Week 2020: People Aged 65 & Over
Feet play an extremely important role as we get older …
Staying active as we get older can have a significant benefit on our quality of life. Regular exercise can improve muscle mass, bone density, heart and lung function and joint function. This leads to greater mobility and independence.
Your feet can also be a mirror of your overall health. Some signs of systemic health conditions that we see in the feet include dry skin, burning/tingling sensations, feelings of cold or numbness, and skin and/or toenail discolouration.
Good foot health is imperative to keep you active and on the move - problems with your feet shouldn’t slow you down! Just like you service your car regularly, checking in with your podiatrist is a great way to identify issues early before they become a bigger problem.
If you haven’t had a foot check-up in a while, click on the “BOOK NOW” button to see one of our wonderful podiatrists at Blackwood Podiatry - your feet (as well as the rest of your body!) will love you for it.
